I first
met Paul in Germany over 20 years ago. Even then he had
a desire to own an Alaskan Malamute. I'd never heard of
them up until then. Very soon his desire also became
mine. We were living in Germany at that time and
although we desperately wanted a dog we decided to wait
until we returned to the UK.
Once our family
was complete the desire to own one of these fantastic
dogs grew stronger and stronger. It was then that we
met Sue Williams who introduced us to our first UK
Malamutes, Nico and Kodi. Since then our lives have
changed and Sue has become one of our greatest friends.
Sadly Nico & Kodi are no longer with us. We are very
proud to have known them.

The children fell
in love with them instantly and what was once Paul's
dream soon became a dream for us all.
Sue kindly
introduced us to Barbara Stanier of the Arctictrek
Kennel and we've never looked Back. Thanks Barbara and
of course Sue.
Natalia had her
first taste of working a Malamute before we even got
one, when after some training Sue allowed her to run
Kodi in Junior races. Kodi was a natural with Children
and never did anything she felt would put the children
in danger. She did what she could to build the
children's confidence. It wasn't long before Natalia
was running other dogs. She was the only Junior for a
time to work Greenland dogs in this country.

Ryan had the
desire to run dogs at an exceptionally early age. At
four years old he would use the commands while playing
with his toys. Although, when younger he would
accompany Paul and the dogs on training runs he longed
for the day when he became eight so he could compete on
his own.
In the 2002/2003
season this dream became reality for Ryan. In came Kodi
for training (Bless Her!) she is so good. Ryan competed
in the J2 class (where adult assistance is permitted if
required, one dog only) for several races with her.
Unfortunately Sue then moved to Scotland, Ryan's
confidence grew so Ryan Started to train with Wi-Ski.
Those two created a bond which I'd never seen before
and Wi-Ski ran for Ryan like he'd never run for
anybody else. The 2004/2005 saw Ryan now moving up to
the J1 class and in 2005/2006 saw Ryan running his first
two dog team! Season 2010/2011 sees Ryan moving up
into the Adult classes.
Me, I'm Musher's
Mate! I care for the dogs, harness them ready for
working. I've occasionally been known to run the dogs on
the odd training run but I really enjoy the hands on ,
care, preparation and calling them in when the dogs and
mushers' approach the finish. I do all the showing.
Over the last few years I've organised a few events for
ABSA and AMWA.
